The Game
It is a game that is uniquely American, sport at the perfect pace and pitch. It endures while generations pass and society shifts.  Ryan Schuiling says that today, with our pagers and impatience, we are unworthy of the peace baseball provides. Only when we renew our awe will we return to a golden age of the game, but baseball, as always, dictates the flow.

Those of you who thought Marty McSorley's attack was a federal crime were closer to the truth than you thought. McSorley must appear in Canadian court to speak for his cheap shot ... Soon you'll need a scorecard to keep track not just of the games, but the standings. Leave it to baseball to come up with a realignment plan that leaves four divisions in one league and three in the other, and on top of it breaks up the Cubs-Cardinals rivalry.

The snowmen 'Av' him
Red Wings fans thought Raymond Bourque was headed to Philly if he was going anywhere. But talks fell through with the Flyers and Boston traded the legendary defenseman to Detroit's bitter rival, Colorado, in a six-player deal. If our WBBL.com poll is any indication, the Wings aren't to blame for
letting this one pass them by:
What should the Red Wings do about Ray Bourque?
Leave him alone
Trade young prospects for him
Trade veterans for him
Trade at any cost to keep him away from Dallas and Colorado

The Coin Toss
By Kelly Feasel
Wayne Huizenga and Dan Marino went 18 holes Tuesday at Huizenga’s private (he owns it!) golf course. The topic?  It has to be Marino’s possible return to the Dolphins. Dan the Man is clearly a shadow of his former self and many think the Dolphins should chase down Jeff George. But next year Dan will have something he has never had: a running back. Yes, Thurman Thomas is old, but he still has some life left in him and playing in the warm Miami climate versus the dreary Buffalo weather would breathe life into even the oldest pair of legs. Will Dan return for his swan song in Miami?  I for one think he should. Dan Marino in anything but Dolphin aqua and orange is a sight I don’t need to witness.

I don't think the michigan program is in as much trouble as hyped. Yes, Ellerbe needs to be gone, and when the season ends he will be. With a new coach and another good recruitng
class involving a good center Michigan can be right back in the Top 25.
There is no way that Michigan St. is 51 points better than Michigan. This game showed how bad a motivator and coach Ellerbe is, and why he should be fired.

ABOUT WBBL.COM

WBBL.com exists for the same reason WBBL AM does - to rise above the flood of scores and stats by 1) taking time for analysis and 2) bringing the fans into the conversation. On the air we do it by taking your calls and faxes. Online we offer e-mails, message boards, chat rooms, and local polls.  We keep you informed, but realize that information without perspective is hollow. And so we look to  inject the same personality into our Web site that you hear on 1340 AM.
